About / Philip Davis
Phil Davis first saw the motivational power of music when supporting children with behavioural difficulties, years before becoming a teacher.
Over the last 10 years, working in challenging schools in South East London he developed his techniques to channel this power into creative writing. The resulting methods have beeen distilled into Picture the Music.
Through the year Phil leads a number of inspirational workshops and inset days. These are always an enjoyable affair, when fellow professionals can learn first hand how much fun can be had when using music to turn on the mind. Phil recently worked with QCA in an advisory capacity looking at ways to integrate music with Maths and Literacy.
In 2000, Phil composed and recorded the widely applauded Beat It CDs. This series of audio CDs give teachers the songs and rhythm tools to use music in the classroom and put Phil’s methods into practice. This was followed by Move It a specially composed music CD for brain break moves. Phil still teaches in South East London. Philip is also a singer songwriter in his band TINPOTS playing a number of different instruments. He often returns to his native Wales to follow his other great passions photography and hill walking.
