About / Philip Davis

Philip is the creator of Picture the Music Create - an innovative interactive software
teaching resource which uses images and sounds to develop creative writing and thinking skills. This is now being used in schools all over the world and has been producing remarkable results. The technique was recently featured on B.B.C Radio 4 with Michael Rosen.

His musical work has long been used in the classroom with the Beat it and Move it CDs. This belief in a more dynamic exciting learning environment is evident in all that Philip does.

He is the co-author of Tatty Bumpkin in the Classroom - a fun packed award winning multi sensory teaching tool for Reception and Key stage 1 children.

His newest innovation is Sounds Inspirational. He describes this as a sonic teaching resource. It uses a variety of different sounds to inspire wonderful creative thoughts.

He has recently been part of a writing project at the Barbican art gallery alongside Valerie Bloom and Michael Rosen called ‘Can I have a word?”

Philip still works regularly in the classroom demonstrating his techniques. He has spoken at numerous educational conferences and Inset days and taken his ideas as far afield as Singapore and Hong Kong. He spoke at the COBIS conference in
London and again in Madrid.

In his spare time Philip writes and records for his band TINPOTS. He also loves
photography and walking in his native Wales.
