Philip has recently delivered a workshop to lecturers and academics at City University in London. The programme director in the dept of journalism and Publishing Mary Ann Kernan said ' so exciting to see music being used in this way to such profound & enlightening effect '
There was also a visit to the university of Plymouth to talk to final year students just before they embark on their teaching careers - this consisted of a series of 3 workshops focusing on how Picture the Music can be used in the classroom.
There will be some interesting developments in the use of Picture the Music Create in other areas of education. We will keep you posted...

Picture the Music create is featured in a report released by the Esmee Fairbairn foundation called Writing Is Primary.
Writing is Primary - a report documenting a 15 month action research project on the teaching of writing in primary schools. It has been written for schools with head teachers wanting to take action to improve the teaching of writing across their school, lead teachers eager to develop their subject knowledge and teaching staff who would like to see their pupils leave primary school with a deeper understanding and enjoyment of what writing can be for them and what it can do in the world beyond the classroom.
The findings of the team of schools showed that ' by stimulating emotions and imagination these approaches gave pupils a reason to write, motivating them to plan, plot and sequence, work on and improve a piece of writing through several drafts.'
The full report is attached to this news item.

..it really makes your brain run.
Sounds create a whole bunch of ideas.
It helped me create a powerful Imagination.
I think i can use this at SATs and English tests and long writing tasks.
It gave us so many ideas.
Sounds can take your mind and create images.
It teaches you in a fun and active way where you can imagine anything.
I enjoyed every single bit about it.
