This course gives you the skills to use this innovative methodology to its full. Inspirational and great fun it will change the way you teach! For the afternoon session please make sure there is a selection of musical instruments provided - the more variety the better.


Session 1 - Creating a dynamic learning environment. The skills of Picture the Music Create.

In this session you will be shown how music and rhythm and movement can help enliven and motivate - you will shown energisers and stretchers, timed challenges, lateralisers and more.

The skills behind the methodology - Picture the Music Create - will be explained - Look, Listen and Think - you will discover the power of observation and the inspiration of Music and sound. You will also understand how to organise ideas on thought maps.


Session 2 - Picture the Music Create - Applications

This session shows Picture the Music Create in action. You will see examples from all over the UK . You will discover the many different outcomes possible using this powerful methodology. You will see how to use special thought map templates linked to narrative and other areas of creative writing.


Session 3 - Picture the Music Create -Creations

This is a highly practical session where you will learn how to create a composition project using Picture the Music Create. Philip will show you methods to develop composition skills that are easy to use in the classroom for all practitioners - not just musical specialists. You will look at Timbre, Dynamics, Rhythm and Structure. You will then have a go at composing your own piece of music (in groups) linked to a special Picture the Music Create lesson that Philip will set up. It is great fun and extremely popular with everyone.
