The Journey
She noticed a staircase shrouded in mist.
The trees were mere phantoms grasping at her wings.
The trees loomed over the strong steps blocking
all the sun’s rays from view.
The fairy felt a sudden urge to venture down.
A spell was pulling her into the deep darkness within.
She stumbled and fell onto the golden sand. Tall palm trees swayed above her in the light breeze. The glistening ocean lapped at her feet. As she gazed up at the sapphire sky she didn’t notice the growling tiger prowling up behind her.
